Refutation of the Catholic New Testament. To the Romanes
Title
Refutation of the Catholic New Testament. To the Romanes
Subject
To the Romanes Page 259
Description
Page from the 1589 edition of the Catholic Bible. The commentary on Romans 13 includes Fulke's refutation of the Rheims note on verse 4 which accuses "the papists" who "conspire most horribly...to murder Christian prince." This illustrates the way in which the sixteenth century manuscript notes are fiercely anti-popish.
