Pages displayed: Veni Creator.  The Anglican hymn-book, contrary to the Calvinist one, contained hymns from the Catholic tradition.

The psalms in ballad metre previously published by Thomas Sternhold (1500-1549) and John Hopkins were gathered in 1562 by the publisher John Day (1522-1584), with the addition of new psalms by Tomas Norton (1532-1584) and John Markant, and translations of versified prayers. The Sternhold-Hopkins versions were sung to music borrowed mostly from the French Calvinist Psalter, and, after the 1621 Thomas Ravencroft (1582-1635) edition, to music composed by late Tudor and early Stuart English composers such as Ravencroft himself, Thomas Tallis (1505-1585) or John Dowland (1563-1626).

The Strozier copy is bound with the Book of Common Prayer, London: Robert Barker, 1641, and the KJV, Cambridge: Thomas Buck and Roger Daniel, 1639.
